John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum

John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum, established in 1972, was the first urban refuge in America. Its purpose is the preserving, restoring, and developing the natural area known as Tinicum Marsh. It also promotes environmental education by providing visitors with opportunities to study wildlife in their natural habitat.
